Minerals and Waste Planning

Cyngor Gwynedd is a member of the North Wales Minerals and Waste Planning Service.

This Service provides planning expertise primarily on minerals and waste matters to Local Planning Authorities across north Wales.

Here in Gwynedd, the team is responsible for:

  • offering advice on minerals and waste planning issues (e.g. quarrying activities, waste control developments such as facilities for recycling, composting, etc)
  • dealing with planning applications for mining activities and for waste management facilities. More details: Submit a planning application
  • monitoring sites to ensure compliance with conditions
  • investigating complaints about alleged breach of planning control. More details: Complaints: breach of planning regulations
  • providing input into the Local Development Plan on issues concerning minerals and waste planning policy
  • providing input into regional and national mineral and waste planning issues
