Supplementary Planning Guidance

Following adoption of the JLDP, the Council’s are in the process of preparing a suite of topic based Supplementary Planning Guidance (SPG). SPGs expand on the policy principles contained within the JLDP and offers guidance to applicants and Officers when assessing planning applications.

Consultation on Supplementary Planning Guidance

Public consultation on Supplementary Planning Guidance ‘Tourism Accommodation and Facilities’ and ‘Change of use of community facilities and services, employment sites and retail units’.

The Anglesey and Gwynedd Joint Local Development Plan (JLDP) was adopted by the Councils on 31st  July, 2017. The JLDP replaces the previous adopted development plan for the Anglesey and Gwynedd Local Planning authority area.  The JLDP sets out the land use planning framework for the Authorities. Following adoption of the JLDP the Councils are in the process of preparing a suite of topic based Supplementary Planning Guidance (SPG). SPGs expand on the policy principles contained within the JLDP and offers guidance to applicants and Officers when assessing planning applications.

The following Supplementary Planning Guidance have been published for public consultation:-

Supplementary Planning Guidance – Tourism Accommodation and Facilities*

Supplementary Planning Guidance – Change of use of community facilities and services, employment sites and retail units

Only the sections which are in bold print and underlined (paragraph and section) of the Tourism Accommodation and Facilities SPG are subject to the public consultation which is currently taking place. No representation received in relation to any other section will be considered valid. 

Due to the current restrictions, the Guidance will only be made available for inspection the Councils website. If you don’t have access to the internet or are having difficulty with accessing the document please contact the Joint Planning Policy Service so that alternative arrangements can be made.

We are inviting individuals and organisations to submit their views on the content of the SPG. You can do this by completing the questionnaire and send it to planningpolicy@gwynedd.llyw.cymru:

The public consultation is open for a period of 6 weeks. You must submit your comments by 5pm on the 27th of November, 2020.

Together with the Councils decision to adopt the JLDP it was decided that the Supplementary Planning Guidance which had been adopted to support the previous Unitary Development Plan should remain, where appropriate, as material planning consideration in determining planning applications, until they are replaced by a new SPG or withdrawn.
