There is a unique opportunity for individuals interested in standards in public life to contribute to the operation of Cyngor Gwynedd and the town and community councils.
The Council is inviting applications to become Independent Members on its Standards Committee.
The Standards Committee plays a crucial role in promoting and maintaining high standards of conduct among the Council's elected members and provides guidance on the Council's Code of Conduct.
To be eligible for the role of Independent Member, applicants must:
- Not be a member or officer of any local authority.
- Not have been a member or officer of any local authority in the past twelve months.
- Not be married to or in a civil partnership with a member or officer of any local authority.
- Not have been a member of Cyngor Gwynedd in the past two years (or five years in some instances).
- Not be a former Cyngor Gwynedd officer that held a politically restricted role or the role of a registration officer in the past two years.
Councillor Nia Jeffreys, Leader of Cyngor Gwynedd, said:
"This is a unique opportunity for the people of Gwynedd to make a difference and have influence within the county’s local government.
"We want to hear from dedicated and enthusiastic individuals who are interested in public services. These great opportunities can be an introduction to public life or a chance to share experience and expertise.
"If you are an objective person, able to think independently and have good communication skills, please consider these opportunities."
