LleChi LleNi

The LleCHI LleNI scheme: Our World Heritage Site, Our Pride, Our Future is part of Cyngor Gwynedd’s efforts to realise the vision of The Slate Landscape of Northwest Wales World Heritage Site, which is:

To protect, conserve, enhance and communicate the important qualities of the area in order to reinforce cultural distinctiveness and strengthen the Welsh language, and become an important driver for economic regeneration and social inclusion.

The LleCHI LleNI scheme is led by Cyngor Gwynedd on behalf of a range of partners, and is a scheme that has received funding from the National Lottery Heritage Fund and other partners. The scheme totals £2m over a five-year period.

We believe that World Heritage Site status is for everyone and we want to support our communities to make the most of the opportunities that come with it.

LleCHI LleNI is the people-centred element of our work, which provides engagement for all, instilling a strong sense of place and local pride in the slate landscape, improving wellbeing, providing opportunities, developing skills and boosting the local economy.
