The Tree Preservation Order protects our tree / trees. It is placed on attractive trees, or which enhance the appearance of an area..
If a tree is protected by a Tree Preservation Order, you CANNOT do any of the following without consent:
- fell or uproot the tree
- prune the tree’s branches
- carry out any work which might damage the tree
If you are caught carrying out unauthorised work on a tree which is under a Tree Preservation Order, you could be prosecuted and face a fine of up to £20,000.
