Parking enquiries / complaints
We have a wide range of car parks in Gwynedd offering safe and affordable parking.
Short stay car parks are located near shopping centres, with long stay car parks on the outskirts of towns or villages, and near attractions such as popular beaches and walking routes. It is possible to pay by cash at the car parks or by downloading the “Paybyphone” app on your smart phone. More information about Gwynedd car parks.
Civil Enforcement Officers are responsible for on and off street parking enforcement, and for the maintenance of our car parks to ensure they are safe and tidy for us all.
Every effort will be made to deal with your enquiry promptly. If the Council has the powers to act and if it is reasonably to do so, we will act in accordance with the relevant regulations and legislation.
Motor homes
Motor homes can park at any one of Gwynedd Council’s car parks. However, overnight camping is not allowed.
There are height barriers at the following car parks meaning that larger motor homes will not be able to access them:
- Balaclafa, Caernarfon
- Llyn Bach Porthmadog
- Stryd Lombard, Porthmadog
- Morannedd, Criccieth
- Ffordd Caerdydd, Pwllheli
- Pen y Gogledd, Barmouth
- Colwyn Banc, Beddgelert
If you are visiting Gwynedd in a motor home we encourage you to prepare in advance by booking a stay at an official camping site. Overnight stays are not permitted on any part of the highway, including lay-bys, or on private land (unless you have permission from the landowner)
Motor cycles
There are dedicated parking bays for motor cycles at the following car parks:
- Penllyn Multi story, Caernarfon.
- Allt Y Castell, Bangor
- Glaslyn, Porthmadog
Motor cycles are permitted to park at all Gwynedd Council owned car parks using regular parking bays and displaying a valid pay and display ticket.

Buses fees
Up to 4 hours £3.50
Over 4 hours £5.50
