Bangor University will be joining museums from across the country for this year’s Welsh Museums Festival, which will be taking place from 28th October to 5th November. Welsh Museums Festival is an annual event presented by the Federation of Welsh Museums, which is the strategic body for museum and art gallery professionals in Wales. It currently represents over 100 unique museums in Wales Together, these invaluable collections tell the story of Wales, and are a treasured resource for learning, exploration and knowledge about our local and national identity.

The University is currently working towards museum accreditation, the recognised standard for museums. The aim is to improve access to the University’s museum collections and this forms a part of Bangor University’s partnership with Storiel. Oliver Turnbull, Deputy Vice-Chancellor reminded us that Bangor has a wonderful museum, with rare and interesting items from across the planet. It’s a pleasure to be able to open the collection to our wider community, and show our commitment to education and the natural world.
