There are many different services and roles available throughout Gwynedd, and you’ll have the opportunity of joining a team that aims to do the best for the people of Gwynedd. You would be helping people to live their lives the way they want to.

• Our Home Care Service - By supporting people in their own homes you will help them live life to the full, and be as independent and happy as possible within their community. This could mean helping with personal care, helping to make food, chatting and understanding their strengths. It is important to understand what is important to that person, and to work with others in the community to help them achieve that.
• Our Learning Disability Service - You will help adults of all ages to lead full and active lives in their own homes and communities, get to know the individuals, understand what’s important in their lives, and how to achieve the best life possible.
• Our residential homes - The Council has 11 residential homes for older people and 2 for adults with learning disabilities.
  In each of our homes our staff work to support residents to live their lives as if they were ‘living in their own home’. You will get to know the residents and their families and help ensure that they’re able to live their life as fully as possible in a safe and homely environment.
  You will gain an understanding of what’s important to each individual, striving to preserve and maintain the dignity, independence and privacy of all individuals in a warm and caring environment, whilst being sensitive to their needs may change over time.
  The work is varied and can mean engaging in different activities, going on trips as well as providing personal care, having a friendly chat and providing company.
• Day Care - You will support individuals in specific centres to socialise, make friends and enjoy activities. Sometimes, when needed, a meal and some care is included. This service has been temporarily suspended due to the emergency

Cyngor Gwynedd offers training, good working terms and regular hours, and the opportunity to help vulnerable residents of the county live as fulfilled a life as possible.

• Care Workers - No formal qualifications needed, only a heart to help! This role involves working and supporting people to be able to achieve the things that matter to them, and to life as independent and happily as possible. This may involve helping people with all aspects of daily life, keeping a record of work, discussing and liaising with families, liaising with community members and other workers who are part of the individual's support network.
• Management and administration - Managers and administrative staff work closely to co-ordinate the day-to-day services. Providing high quality, person centred services is at the heart of the work.
• Catering - Catering staff make sure that people receive delicious nutritious meals, working hand in hand with residents and other staff to consider which type of diet is most suitable for them.
• Housekeeping and maintenance - These roles are vital to ensure a clean, safe and comfortable environment for residents, visitors and staff.

Care work offers much more than just personal care. There is an opportunity for you to share your interests, and help people progress, develop or regain skills that will help them live a more independent and fulfilled life.
