Going on holiday during term time
We ask you to avoid going on holiday during term time if possible.
If you have to take your child out of school during term time, you will have to discuss and agree with your school.
Year 2026 / 2027:
The term dates directed by Welsh ministers for the 2026–2027 school year:
Schools will re-open for teachers only on Tuesday, 1 September, 2026.
Pupils will return on Wednesday, 2 September 2026. (This date can vary between schools. Please check with your school if your are uncertain).
There are 6 other training days to be taken by schools during 2026-27. Contact your local school for details.
