Parking Restrictions (double yellow lines etc.)

If you are concerned about traffic flow, inappropriate parking, or safety risks, you can request parking restrictions such as double yellow lines.

Matters to consider before making a proposal:

  • Is there genuine concern about safety or traffic flow, supported by sound legal reasoning
  • Whether the issue is occasional or persistent
  • Whether the new restrictions would create a similar or worse problem in a nearby area
  • The likely impact of the restrictions on driver behaviour
  • Realistic expectations regarding enforcement in the area

All proposals for parking restrictions will be subject to public consultation, meaning members of the public have the right to object.
