Cyngor Gwynedd's Cabinet has agreed to adopt a new agreement which will strengthen the relationship between the Council and the third sector, laying a solid foundation for working together to support the county's communities in the years to come.
The third sector, which includes charities, voluntary organisations, social enterprises and community groups, plays a vital role in the lives of Gwynedd residents. From providing support to individuals and families to creating opportunities to volunteer and strengthen communities, the sector contributes significantly to the county's well-being.
By adopting the latest version of the 'Compact' agreement, the Council and the third sector will reaffirm their commitment to working together for the benefit of the people and communities of Gwynedd.
As part of the new arrangements, the Third Sector Liaison Group will be re-established in partnership with Mantell Gwynedd. The group will bring together voices from across the sector to share ideas, discuss priorities and help shape the way forward.

I'm delighted that the Council's Cabinet has agreed to adopt the agreement. The third sector is an extremely important partner to the Council delivering significant work that improves the lives of people across Gwynedd every day.
“By working together, we can make the best use of our resources, capitalise on each other's strengths and maximise the benefits for our residents and communities.
“The agreement provides us with a solid foundation to build on, ensuring that the relationship between the third sector and the Council continues to develop and thrive in the years to come.”

“The Compact tells a good story of working together in partnership, and of trust between two sectors within one county. The Council would not be able to deliver all services without the third sector organisations, but the sector also needs the support and trust to be able to do that.
“We have reached a good point in Gwynedd, and it is important to remember that it is the well-being of the people of Gwynedd that is at the heart of this very special relationship.”
