Justification for using your Information
We collect and use your personal information because it is necessary to perform our public task Article 6 (1) (e).
We will rely on Article 6(1)(f) Legitimate interests: the processing is necessary for your legitimate interests or the legitimate interests of a third party. Cyngor Gwynedd will rely on this lawful basis in order to share information in relation to future tendering opportunities to registered licensed Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Drivers.
We collect and use your special categories of personal data under Article 9 (2)(g) and if relevant personal data relating to criminal convictions and offences to perform our public task as required by law. This includes the application process for both Disclosure and Barring Service and DVLA checks.
The Council has a statutory duty to regulate the taxi and private hire trades under the Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1976 for Private Hire. This legislation covers the licensing of taxi and private hire drivers, taxi and private hire vehicles and private hire operators.
The Council will not use your information for automated decision making or profiling.

How long we keep your information and your rights
We will keep your personal data for as long as is necessary, unless superseded by statutory regulation, and we will dispose of it securely when it is no longer needed

- information held in respect of a licence - 6 years after the date from which the licence ceases to be held
- information received as part of an enforcement investigation – for a minimum of 6 years and then for only so long as may be necessary to inform a decision to protect the public
