Our aim is to ensure that habitats are protected and maintained, providing homes for our remarkable range of species and increasing biodiversity throughout Gwynedd.
Our projects and partners
We have led, supported and funded many projects that promote biodiversity across the county. Here are a few examples:
There has been a significant increase in the number of wildflower areas across the county due to working in partnership with our communities. The Cob in Pwllheli is an excellent example of how a wide variety of species are now thriving. The Dwyfor roadside verges project is another example of how the Council is now managing land for the benefit of nature and has successfully created areas that provide a haven for pollinators.

Projects have been delivered in several many residential homes. By funding equipment and seeds and running gardening sessions with residents, we have provided opportunities for everyone to get outdoors, enjoy gardening and grow their own crops.
· This project looks at the habitat along Y Lôn Goed and the species that live here, while also working with two local schools to learn about this important habitat and examine the damage caused by Storm Darragh. The schools have also created artwork with the support of two local artists, Sioned Medi Evans and Meic Watts.
Two former Council landfill sites (Llwyn Isa and Ffridd Rasus) have been completely transformed for the benefit of nature.
