Please note, an additional fee of £451 will be charged for any emergency road closure application if not received within five working days of the works commencement.
The Applicant Must:
- Agree to meet the Councils costs as specified above.
- Provide, erect, and maintain the required traffic and diversion signs including advance notice boards where possible.
- Undertake to inform all parties known to be directly affected by the restriction.
Emergency Closures
These will not be granted for any form of preplanned works or events. They will only be granted if there is an immediate risk of danger to the public or serious damage to the highway.
Responsibilities
The provision, operation and maintenance of all signs, lighting and guarding of the works is the responsibility of the applicant and shall be in accordance with the requirements of the New Roads and Street Works Act 1991, “Safety and Street Works and Road Works” Code of Practice and read
