Tŷ Gwynedd Scheme

The new homes in Bangor are part of the Tŷ Gwynedd scheme, which is Cyngor Gwynedd’s housing development scheme to provide 90 affordable homes for local people throughout the county. The aim of this scheme is to support people who find it difficult to buy or rent a house on the open market but who might not be eligible for social housing.

Our vision is to develop high-quality, affordable housing. We will achieve this by adhering to the following design principles:

  • Affordable – housing available to rent or buy at an affordable price.
  • Adaptable – flexible designs that can be modified to meet needs that change over time.
  • Sustainable – using eco-friendly materials and local supply chains.
  • Energy efficient – implementing modern technology to reduce carbon footprint and energy costs.

This project is part of Cyngor Gwynedd’s Housing Action Plan, which aims to build, buy and renovate over 2,000 homes over the lifetime of the scheme.
