Llanrug to Caernarfon cycle route

Gwynedd Council are developing a cycle route from Llanrug to Caernarfon. That will improve the connection between communities, key attraction within Caernarfon and surrounding area.

 

The opportunities

• A route which provides a connection between communities and local attractions in Caernarfon such as the castle, Arfon Leisure Centre and Cibyn Industrial Estate.
• Provide a safe route for cyclists and walkers
• A direct route into Caernarfon that is comfortable and easy to use
• A route which lessens road conflict
• Encourages people to walk and cycle for work purposes and leisure
• Selecting a route which has minimal environmental impact 

 

The project

Stage 1: The project began by looking at the study area within the red line of this map. To find the most suitable route, we looked at 10 different routes.

Proposed route

Stage 2: After assessing each route, a recommended route was selected for further study. Information of the route can be seen by following the link below. Here you will find advantages and disadvantages of the recommended route.
