Mental health problems can affect any one of us at any time. Cyngor Gwynedd's Mental Health teams, led by social workers, offer a range support and social services for individuals over 18 years old with their mental health needs, and their carers.

Mental Health Social Service - Cyngor Gwynedd
Cyngor Gwynedd has two teams of social workers and support workers to assist individuals with their mental health needs.
We can
- provide information, advice and social care for people with mental health needs
- help you with personal support to enable you to live as independently as possible
- offer advice and share contact details of useful organisations
We do NOT
- provide an emergency service (in an emergency call 111 and choose option 2)
- provide medication (contact your GP or the Community Mental Health Team (NHS).

Emergency Mental Health support is available from GIG Cymru, 24 hours a day 7 days a week. Call 111 and choose option 2.

Clinical Mental Health Service
Individuals who are currently receiving or who might need help with clinical mental health needs will continue to receive support from the Health Service (BCUHP), either at the Hergest Unit, Ysbyty Gwynedd (Arfon area) or Ysbyty Alltwen (South Gwynedd area):

Individuals who have clinical and social mental health needs will receive support from both services.
