Community Food Share Hub Grant

Gwynedd Council has received a capital grant for the provision of equipment and resources to support community based food share projects.  The aim of the grant is to keep edible food out of waste streams whilst simultaneously supporting residents, and organisations, projects and community groups that achieve these aims are eligible to apply for the grant.

We are inviting applications from food hubs for equipment such as fridges, freezers, food storage equipment and so on. which would support the work of collecting, transporting or redistributing food. We are particularly keen to hear from projects that aim to redistribute fresh food stuffs, for example, through establishing community fridges.

The council will provide commercial food waste collections free of charge to participating projects, and additional support from recycling officers will be available to a minimum of 6 successful projects.

The grant hopes to strengthen existing networks by investing in equipment to ensure adequate supplies of resources to support vulnerable families and individuals.

How to apply:

Applications are invited from community food hubs to receive food storage equipment / resources by completing the attached form and returning it to by 31 January 31 2021.
