Date: 07/10/2019

Gwynedd Council Residential Homes along with DementiaGo held a sports week recently.

Teams including staff and residents from Arfon, Dwyfor and Meirionnydd participated in a number of events such as Boccia, skittles and walking.

The highlight of the week was the ‘mabolgampau’ event where the homes met in various leisure centres in order to compete against each other. Five challenges were set including Boccia, kicking at goal, Triathlon – going from sitting to standing, lifting their heel, bicep curls, a parachute game and a cheerleading competition.

Emma Quaeck, Manager of the DementiaGo programme said: “Once again, we’ve had a very successful week with the ‘mabolgampau’ being the highlight.
