A different kind of night at Storiel

Have you been thinking of visiting Storiel, but haven’t been able to get there during the day? How about seeing what the museum is like after dark?

If so, come along to Storiel in Bangor on Thursday night, 27 October between 6pm and 8pm for a ‘Museums at Night’ event.

As a part of a national ‘Museums at Night’ festival, a range of events will be held at Storiel including:

-          A performance by the folk singer Chris Jones

-          An opportunity for families to dress up as characters from the Museum’s Victorian collection, and take a photo of course

-          A rare opportunity to see the collection of ‘daguerrotypes’, which are old photos that are usually not on-display.

Museums at Night is a festival that takes place throughout Britain from 27 to 30 October, and gives an opportunity for new audiences to visit museums at different opening times to the usual and to see something different.

Storiel is the new and improved Gwynedd Museum and Art Gallery. It opened earlier this year thanks to a Heritage Lottery grant, as well as support by a range of other organisations to transform the museum and gallery.
