This year’s Gwynedd Business Week has been a fantastic opportunity to celebrate local business success and has offered a great opportunity for all kinds of local businesses to come together to network and exchange ideas.

The week was based around a programme of various business support events held across the county in venues including Bangor, Dolgellau, Botwnnog and Penygroes.

The highlight of the week – now in its 14th year - was the Gwynedd Business Awards Dinner held at Bangor University’s Management Centre. The Dinner was a chance for business leaders from all over Gwynedd to meet like-minded people, to share ideas and experiences.

Councillor Gareth Thomas, Gwynedd Council Cabinet Member for Economic Development said:

“Many congratulations to all the businesses who have been recognised – the Awards Dinner was a real highlight of the Gwynedd Business Week and provided a wonderful opportunity to showcase the rich variety of companies that are succeeding here in the county.

“As part of the week, a wide-range of business workshops and events has provided an excellent opportunity for Gwynedd companies to come together to share experiences and discuss opportunities to succeed. It has underlined the fact that Gwynedd is a fantastic place to do business.”

During the Dinner, awards were presented to Geraint Jones, Becws Islyn as the Gwynedd Business Person of the Year, Edward Kirkwood as the Young Entrepreneur that has successfully established a business and positively contributed to the county’s economy, Talyllyn Railway as the Tourism Business of the Year, Bowydd Garage, Blaenau Ffestiniog as the Small Business of the Year and the Business Innovation Award was presented to Toni Bailey (SQMAS Ltd).
