Gwynedd events seminar in Portmeirion

As part of Gwynedd Council’s strategic project, “Yma Mae Pethau’n Digwydd” to attract investment from major events in the county, a workshop is planned specifically for Gwynedd event organisers, local businesses and communities who are interested in getting involved with major events.

As part of the Gwynedd Business Week, a free seminar will be held in the Town Hall in Portmeirion on Wednesday, 24 May 2017 at The evening will be led by Iwan Trefor Jones, Gwynedd Council’s Strategic Director who will be in discussion with Festival No6, Snowdonia Outdoor Festival,  Red Bull, Always Aim High Events and a local business that has benefited from events.

Steve Lane the Managing Director of Brand Events TM who are staging the inaugural ‘Snowdonia Outdoor Festival’ in Bala this year said that they: “Always look to use suppliers from local communities where their events are held as events should not only provide entertainment for visitors but also a tangible benefit to the economy in which they are located.  This type of seminar is an excellent opportunity to meet event organisers and share information with people and local suppliers."

Iwan Trefor Jones, Gwynedd Council’s Strategic Director added: "We are delighted to offer this opportunity for indigenous businesses in the area. It is estimated that Gwynedd’s major events contributed over £6 million to the economy of Gwynedd in 2016. There is already significant expenditure within Gwynedd as a result of the events held here but there is always room for improvement and I would urge any business interested in an opportunity to sell in Gwynedd’s major events to attend this seminar also it’s a great opportunity for indigenous event organisers to hear from major UK and International event organisers about their experiences.”
