Pier 125 – new exhibition at Storiel, Bangor

A new exhibition is opening at Storiel celebrating 125 year of Bangor Pier.
The exhibition has been arranged by the Friends of Bangor Pier and Bangor City Council - celebrating 125 years of the Pier, with a focus on history and local stories.
It runs at Storiel in Bangor until 4 June. The exhibition will feature an original film reel by Monster Films, the Menai Monster donations box design and small banners showing artwork from local schools, as well as panels and items relating to the history of the pier. Entry is free and all donations towards the pier are welcome.
A spokesperson for Bangor City Council said:
“Bangor Pier has been a huge part of our City for well over a century and it is close to all our hearts. We are so exciting to have been able to put together this exhibition celebrating the stories made over the last 125 years on this icon of Bangor.”
Avril Wayte, Chair of Friends of Bangor Garth Pier added:
“We are delighted to be bringing to life 125 years of history of Bangor’s most iconic structure – Garth Pier. Organised jointly by Bangor City Council and Friends of Bangor Garth Pier, the exhibition at Storiel promises to be both a vibrant exhibition and a celebration of the pier and its people.”
