Alternative arrangements at Ysgol Ardudwy following recent storm
Following significant damage to the roofs of Ysgol Ardudwy’s buildings in Harlech during the recent storms, Year 10 and 11 pupils are being educated full time in the former library building in Harlech and the Dolgellau site of Coleg Meirion. Year 9 pupils are being educated at Theatr y Ddraig in Barmouth.
Year 7 and 8 pupils are being educated on alternate days on the Ysgol Eifionydd site in Porthmadog at present. In addition to this, the school has been able to arrange for these pupils to make use of the Pavilion Leisure Centre in Barmouth, with Year 7 pupils attending on Wednesday, 21 March and Year 8 attending on Thursday, 22 March. This will mean that Physical Education and First Aid instruction will be added to the pupils’ education during this period.
Work to make the roofs of Ysgol Ardudwy buildings safe is moving ahead and everyone is working towards pupils being able to return to the site after the Easter holidays.
