Raising RAF ensign in Llanbedr to note centenary of the RAF
2018 marks the centenary anniversary of the establishment of the Royal Air Force (RAF) as the first independent airfield in the world. There are several events organised around the country to mark this centenary and the RAF is keen to involve communities and local Councils.
A request was made for Welsh councils to arrange for the RAF flag to fly on one date from April to mid July 2018.
Given the close connection of the village of Llanbedr in Meirionnydd with the Royal Air Force over the years, the Council Chair, Cllr Annwen Hughes, has decided that the banner will be flown on the memorial in that village, at 9.30 for 9:45am on Thursday 5 July 2018. All are welcome.
Parking will be available at the Victoria Inn, Llanbedr.
