Mischief Makers in Gwynedd Libraries
Over the summer holidays Gwynedd Council libraries are offering a wide variety of activities and entertainment that are suitable for the whole family. These activities will be free of charge and range from a reading challenge to an animal show.
‘The Mischief Makers’ is the theme for this year, and all of the events will ensure that there are plenty of activities for the children, as well as being educational for them.
42,536 of children’s books were lent during the 2017 challenge, and 651 children attended various creative and fun events in Libraries across Gwynedd.
Councillor Craig ab Iago, Gwynedd Council’s Cabinet Member for libraries said: “Reading is an essential life skill but supporting children to read at an early age is also important to ensure a development in reading for pleasure.
“There’s a wide range of fun activities being held in Libraries all across Gwynedd, and the reading challenge is a brilliant way to encourage children to continue reading over the summer. Children are being encouraged to read nine books over the summer and if they complete the challenge they will receive a medal and certificate - so go to your local library this summer for plenty of fun!”
