Llesiant i Mi: Gwynedd's creative online community supports well-being
Following a difficult year which has affected many of us, a project is underway to offer creative online activities that will kick start 2021 in a positive way as well as supporting mental wellbeing.
The project, ran by the Arts Council of Wales and Gwynedd Council's Well-being Team, is based around the 'five ways to wellbeing' - five actions that contribute positively to mental well-being - connect, learn, be active, take notice and give.
Gwawr Roberts, Gwynedd Council's Community Arts Development Officer, said: “All registrants will be invited to a closed Facebook group and guided through the program by a small team who will share their experiences and ideas in terms of creativity and well-being.
“Llesiant i Mi is not a program of treatment or clinical therapy, but rather a scheme to inspire and share ideas that can be of support to the people of Gwynedd.”
Councillor Gareth Thomas, Gwynedd Council's Cabinet Member for Economic and Community Development, said: "The past year has been a very difficult time for all of us, and it’s great to see such an encouraging project taking place in early 2021.
"The coronavirus has undoubtedly had an impact on many people's mental well-being, and creative activities such as this project can help people share their experiences and inspire others to start the new year afresh and I hope will be a better year for all of us. ”
