Digital Gwynedd - Access for All

Date 22/01/2018

Gwynedd Council is eager to hear from local community groups throughout the county that could benefit from a scheme to improve access to computers and the internet.

The Council has have been successful in securing funding through the Welsh Government’s Rural Communities Development fund to develop the project Digital Gwynedd – Access for All. The scheme will enable the Council to provide I.T equipment in order to gain internet access in various communal locations across the county.

Councillor Ioan Thomas, Gwynedd Council Cabinet member for Economic Development said:

“As a Council, we are eager to ensure that residents in communities throughout Gwynedd have easy access to new technology and the web.

“If you are a member of a community group or Community Council and are aware that the lack of access to IT equipment and the web is a barrier to residents in your community, the Council wants to hear from you. Your community could benefit from investment through this exciting new scheme.

“We are looking for communities that would benefit from IT equipment and internet access in public spaces such as community facilities in rural Gwynedd.”

If you were interested, you needed to contact the Council to declare an interest before Friday, 9 February 2018.
