New contact details for Gwynedd social services
How adults gain access to social services in Gwynedd will change on 5 February.
From this date onwards, the new Information, Advice and Assistance Service will be available on a more local area, with teams situated in Llŷn, Caernarfon, Bangor, Eifionydd / north Meirionnydd and south Meirionnydd.
These five new teams will take the place of the old Adults’ Information and Assessment Team and the Arfon, Dwyfor and Meirionnydd Area Teams.
Councillor Gareth Roberts, Gwynedd Council’s Cabinet Member for Adults, Health and Wellbeing Services, said: “This change means that the people who require these services, and their families, can contact the relevant officers directly. Working on the basis of smaller geographical areas will also mean that the staff can gain a better understanding of what’s happening in the local communities, which in turn will improve the individual’s experience.
“This is the first step of creating integrated teams across community social care and health services, which includes community nurses, occupational therapists and physiotherapists.
“This change is in response to the statutory duties of the Social Services and Well-being Act and this programme of support available from these five teams is aimed at creating a culture of new work processes, which will benefit the people of Gwynedd.”
The contact details for the five new teams will be:

Information about the changes is being circulated within the local communities and partner agencies by the Council so that service users will know how to contact these vital services should they need them.
