Safety lessons for Gwynedd school children
A special guest visited Ysgol Tregarth and Ysgol y Gorlan, Tremadog recently to help teach the pupils about road safety.
Year 1 pupils had the chance to meet the lovable road safety mascot Carys Ofalus, and they were also awarded with certificates and fluorescent bag for completing Kerbcraft sessions.
Shirley Wyn Williams from Gwynedd Council’s Transport and Countryside Service, said: “Kerbcraft is a national road safety plan which is aimed at teaching pupils aged between 5-7 year olds how to safely cross the road and helps young children to make the right decisions whilst integrating with traffic.
“We were very pleased to arrange this visit by Carys Ofalus and the children and teachers gave us a warm welcome.”
The Kerbcraft scheme is administered by Gwynedd Council and funded by the Welsh Government.
