Can you help?

Date: 15/08/2017

Following the international refugee crisis, the Syrian Refugee Resettlement Programme was announced by the Government in September 2015. Gwynedd Council  has committed to taking part in the Syrian Refugee Resettlement Programme, and by now 20 Syrian refugees (4 families) have already resettled in Gwynedd.

There are plans to resettle another 20 refugees during the next two years, and we will need to identify suitable affordable accommodation for them. Can you help?

Criteria for suitable accommodation:

  • Accommodation should be of a suitable standard, self-contained and include adequate kitchen and bathroom facilities.
  • Rent will be paid at Local Housing Allowance (LHA) level.
  • The property should be available for a minimum period of at least 12 months.
  • We are specifically looking for properties in the Bangor area, or within a 10 mile radius which has a good bus service.

If you can help, or require further information; please contact Natalee Jones at Gwynedd Council’s Housing Department on 01286 682 608 or
