Gwynedd Council thanks businesses in the county
At the end of a very different year, Gwynedd Council is thanking businesses in the county for their efforts in supporting and keeping our communities safe during these difficult times. A note of thanks has been sent to over 9,000 local enterprises and circulated by the Council’s business support team via bulletins and social media.
The Cabinet Member for Economic Development was eager to pay tribute to the business sector for their work over the last 12 months to keep Gwynedd's communities safe.
Councillor Gareth Thomas, Gwynedd Council Cabinet Member for Economic Development, said:
“It’s been an extraordinary year and, on behalf of the people of Gwynedd, I’d like to thank every local business for their exceptional efforts to support our communities and keep us all safe.
“Having run a business myself, I know they have been facing huge challenges and the Council has done everything it can to support them, including distributing almost £100 million in financial support on behalf of the Welsh Government.
“Likewise, there will be challenges as we shift from focusing on survival to reopening and then recovery. Again, every business will have a critical role in keeping everyone who lives and visits Gwynedd safe, and I’d ask them to give careful thought to this as they plan for the future.
“The Council will continue to be here to help you. In the meantime, remember to keep safe and keep ahead by registering to receive our business support newsletter.”
