Gwynedd Archives to reopen
Gwynedd Council’s Archives Service is making plans to welcome the public back to its buildings soon.
Meirionnydd Record Office in Dolgellau will re-open on Monday, 12 April and Caernarfon Record Office on Wednesday, 14 April.
Lynn Francis, Gwynedd Council Head Archivist said: “We look forward to seeing people back in our archives. To protect customers and staff, safety arrangements will be in place, and we are grateful in advance to people for their understanding and patience as we reintroduce this valuable service.”
All documents will need to be pre-ordered and an appointment only system will be in place. Those wishing to visit will need to contact the service a day or more in advance so that documents can be retrieved and to ensure that they are available.
Documents can be ordered by searching through the on-line catalogue on Gwynedd Council’s website www.gwynedd.llyw.cymru - if you are unsure which documents you require, please contact the Archive Service so that a member of staff can assist you. If you are unable to visit, you are welcome to contact the Record Offices to discuss other services.
