Ysgol Ardudwy – Pupils to return to site
Following significant work to repair damage caused to the roofs of the Ysgol Ardudwy building in Harlech caused during the extremely stormy weather in March, pupils will be returning to the site next Monday, 23 April.
The first phase of the work to repair the significant damage to the school building’s roofs will be completed by this weekend.
The work of re-roofing the majority of the school will now get underway with the aim of completing the work by the end of the summer holidays. During this period, the contractors will work closely with the school to ensure that the work does not impede the school’s activities, and that the work is carried out on each roof in order.
Arrangements have been made to ensure that the repair work will not be carried out during GCSE exams. In addition, when rooms in the top floor of any block is temporarily closed so that re-roofing work is carried out, some classes will be held in the former library building in Harlech, with transport provided.
Ysgol Ardudwy and Gwynedd Council would like to sincerely thanks the various centres that have offered temporary facilities to the school, and to the staff, pupils and parents for their cooperation during this challenging period. Everyone is pleased that the temporary arrangements put in place has ensured that pupils’ education has continued despite the difficult circumstances.
