Welsh Government February / March 2021 Restrictions Business Funds

These Funds are in response to the extension of the Alert Level 4 restrictions announced on the 29th of January.

This support is in addition to the funds already provided for the December 2020 / January 2021 period.

The funds are administered by Gwynedd Council on behalf of the Welsh Government. 

UPDATE:
The Funds have now closed to new applications. Applications already submitted are still being assessed.  

For businesses who receive a bill for Non-Domestic Rates (even if they are not required to pay anything) the following assistance is available (see guidelines):

Grant 1

(for premises with a rateable value of £12,000 or less)

ONE of the following: 

  • Payment of £3,000 to businesses required to close by the regulations (see guidelines).

Eligible businesses who received support for December 2020 / January 2021 will receive this payment directly no later than 26 February 2021 - there is no need to submit an application.

If you are an eligible business that hasn’t previously claimed a payment, you can still apply for support - click below to submit an application:

  • Payment of £3,000 to businesses that supply businesses required to close with a greater than 40% reduction in turnover as a direct result of the restrictions.

Grant 2

(for premises with a rateable value of between £12,001 and £51,000)

ONE of the following:

  • Payment of £5,000 to businesses required to close by the regulations (see guidelines).

Eligible businesses who received support for December 2020 / January 2021 will receive this payment directly no later than 26 February 2021 - there is no need to submit an application.

Grant 3

(for premises with a rateable value of between £51,001 and £150,000)

ONE of the following: 

  • Payment of £5,000 to businesses required to close by the regulations (see guidelines).

Grant 4 NEW

(for premises with a rateable value of between £150,001 and £500,000)

ONE of the following:

  • Payment of £5,000 to businesses required to close by the regulations (see guidelines).

  • Payment of £5,000 to businesses that supply businesses required to close with a greater than 40% reduction in turnover as a direct result of the restrictions.

A BUSINESS CAN ONLY RECEIVE ONE PAYMENT (FOR A MAXIMUM OF TWO PREMISES).

PLEASE ENSURE THAT YOU READ THE FUND GUIDELINES BEFORE SUBMITTING AN APPLICATION.

BUSINESSES ELIGIBLE FOR THIS SUPPORT CANNOT APPLY FOR THE DISCRETIONARY FUND (SEE BELOW).

 

For small businesses who do not receive a Non-Domestic Rates bill the following support is available (see guidelines):

ONE of the following:

  • A discretionary payment of £2,000 for small businesses that have been required or forced to close as a result of the Alert Level 4 restrictions.

PLEASE REMEMBER, A BUSINESS CAN ONLY RECEIVE ONE PAYMENT. 

PLEASE ENSURE THAT YOU READ THE FUND GUIDELINES BEFORE SUBMITTING AN APPLICATION.

BUSINESSES THAT HAVE NOT PREVIOUSLY RECEIVED SUPPORT FROM GWYNEDD COUNCIL (FROM THE FREELANCER FUND, THE NEW BUSINESSES FUND OR THE LOCKDOWN DISCRETIONARY GRANT FUNDS) WILL NEED TO PROVIDE A DIGITAL COPY OF A RECENT BANK STATEMENT - ENSURE THAT A COPY IS TO HAND BEFORE YOU START YOUR APPLICATION.

BUSINESSES THAT ARE ELIGIBLE TO RECEIVE SUPPORT THAT IS AVAILABLE TO BUSINESSES THAT PAY BUSINESS RATES (SEE ABOVE) ARE NOT ELIGIBLE TO RECEIVE SUPPORT FROM THIS FUND.
