This year, Gwynedd Business Week will be held between 21 and 25 of May.

During the week...

  • we will celebrate and promote local business success and will offer a great opportunity for all kinds of local businesses to come together to network and exchange ideas.
  • a variety of events will to be held across Gwynedd.
  • the highlight will be the Gwynedd Business Gala Dinner, (held on 24 of May at The Management Centre, Bangor.) Gwynedd Business Network will present an award to the person nominated as the 'Gwynedd Business Person of the Year'.
  • Gwynedd branch of the Federation of Small Businesses will present an award to the 'Young Entrepreneur' that has successfully established in the current year and has positively contributed to the economy of Gwynedd.

Monday 21 May 2018

1. Gwynedd Business Week Launch Event – Business Breakfast

8:00 – 10:00, The Management Centre, Bangor

Join us for the launch of the Gwynedd Business Week 2017.

This FREE breakfast launch event will be an opportunity to network with representatives from the private and public sector. The topic will be the “North Wales Growth Deal”,  with a keynote speech by Iwan Trefor Jones, Corporate Director, Gwynedd Council and member of the North Wales Economic Ambition Board followed by a Q & A session.

2. Information and Networking Event

As part of Gwynedd Business Week we are holding an information and networking event here at Congl Meinciau.

On the day you will be getting the opportunity to hear from Busnes Cymru, Wales Development Bank, Be Nesa Llŷn?, and Cymraeg Byd Busnes: Welsh for Business. This will be an excellent opportunity for you to network and create professional relationships with other businesses.

3. Horizon’s Approach to Safety, Security, Health, Environment and Quality (SSHEQ)

10:00 – 13:00, Tŷ Menai, Parc Menai, Bangor

Come and hear from Daron Hodges, Wylfa Newydd Site Manager and his team, including Toby Hopkins, Head of Health Safety & Environmental and Emergency Preparedness, Safety and Licensing, about what is expected from the supply chain who want to work on the Wylfa Newydd project during construction and operation.

 This event will be held specifically for the construction and highways sector and will provide an opportunity for you to meet relevant buyers from the public and private sector, discuss work opportunities and the associated requirements, as well as to meet with business support organisations.

3. Gwynedd Business Support Fair

10:00 – 14:00, Ty Menai, Parc Menai, Bangor

On Wednesday, 23 May, a Business Support Fair will be held at Ty Menai, Parc Menai, Bangor (LL57 4HJ) with major support agencies hosting:

  • exhibition stands
  • presenations
  • and 1:1 sessions with advisors. 

A wide variety of organisations will be present between 10am and 2pm, who will be ready to speak to you about your business and answer any questions.  They include high street banks, lawyers, Gwynedd Council, Prince’s Trust Cymru, HR providers, Grŵp Llandrillo Menai, Business Wales, Menter Môn, Menter a Busnes, BIC Innovation, ION Leadership Project and Superfast Business Wales.

30 minute ‘Hot Shot’ sessions on specific topics will be held throughout the day: skills and training, raising business finance, human resources, intellectual property rights, innovation, exporting and growing your business, ION Leadership programmes and programmes to develop your business.

1. Welsh Slate Business Breakfast

The Ogwen Valley is one of seven distinct areas that will be included in the Wales Slate nomination for World Heritage Site status for the Slate Landscape of North Wales and we invite businesses and residents to come and learn about the bid  and how it could be of benefit to the local economy.

3. Raising Awareness Session of the North Wales Growth Deal (for Gwynedd Council Members only)

In this session, Iwan Trefor Jones (as Lead Director on the North Wales Economic Ambition Board) and the Council Leader (as Vice-chairman of the North Wales Growth Board) will give you a presentation on developments to date, the projects and what they mean for the people of Gwynedd, together with the timescale.  The session will be quite informal and there will be an opportunity to ask questions following the presentation.

 

4.  ‘Women Working Together’ Conference and Exhibition

A conference & exhibition showcasing the success of business women for Gwynedd Business Week.

5. Gwynedd Business Week Gala Dinner
