Local Investment Fund

The Local Investment Fund, which was introduced in 2009, was a package of flexible financial support to assist new and existing businesses by offering capital grants of 40% of eligible projects, subject to a minimum of £1000 and a maximum of £10,000 grant. 

With effect from December 2014, the LIF budget has been fully committed, and no further funding is available from this source. 

The LIF has been a successful project, contributing to the Gwynedd local economy, with the following outputs having been achieved:-

  • 154 existing business, 42 new businesses, and 3 social enterprises have received LIF financial support. 
  • A total of £1.004m grant funds have been released as a contribution towards total project costs of £4.904m.
  • 150 full-time jobs and 81 part-time jobs have been created as a direct result of LIF supported projects. 
  • 330 full-time jobs and 126 part-time jobs have been safeguarded as a direct result of LIF supported projects.
